This bungalow was acquired in Hamilton about 18 months ago. The young couple knew they had their work cut out for them from the beginning. They loved the neighbourhood, and the home had great bones to begin with, however had been quite dated.

The home had many small broken up rooms including a closed off kitchen that simply wasn’t functional for cooking or entertaining. After living in the house for about a year, the couple decided to plan out how they wanted to tackle the main floor renovation, but ultimately needed help from our team at The Wright Kitchen. The goal for this renovation was to create an open concept floorplan that was great for entertaining and cooking.

In April of 2019, the renovations began, walls were being removed to open up the right side of the home in order to relocate the kitchen from it’s current small, enclosed room to an open concept layout. After meeting with multiple kitchen companies in the area, The Wright Kitchen stood out to this couple and helped guide decisions throughout the whole process making this stressful situation manageable.

The kitchen features a contemporary slab door style in a Matte Grey finish, due to the “no uppers” look, we added white high gloss pantries for maximum storage. The Pure White Caesarstone waterfall countertop was selected to introduce some contrast and play off the gloss white cabinets.

Modern accents, such as the pendant light over the peninsula, the glass range hood, and counter stools were selected to add the perfect finishing detail to this functional, modern kitchen. Due to the smaller footprint of this house, the simplicity and minimalism was key to making the space appear larger.
